Our Mission

The South Shore Community Center Nursery School is dedicated to fostering the development of the total child. Just as every child is unique so are the families we serve. Our mission is to provide children and their families a happy, safe, inclusive learning environment where individuality is valued.

Our Philosophy

It is the philosophy of the South Shore Community Center Nursery School that children be encouraged to learn and grow by providing a foundation of developmentally appropriate experiences. We strive to create a place where all children can succeed in a safe and nurturing environment.

Community

We are part of the South Shore Community Center (SSCC). The SSCC’s purpose is to maintain an organization for the civic, social, charitable, educational and recreational betterment of the town and surrounding communities. We have been fostering and encouraging this purpose by providing quality programs from infant to adult for over 40 years. We provide a range of classes including cooking, bowling, gym classes, health and wellness seminars and more. Click here to learn more.

Parent Testimonials

  • “From the moment I entered the doors of the SSCC Nursery School six years
ago, I was struck by the school’s warm and welcoming environment. Now as the
mother of two graduates and one current student, I have seen firsthand how
the teachers and school community have fostered a lifelong love of learning
in my children and sent them to kindergarten exceptionally well prepared. We
feel blessed to have found such a special school!”

  • “The SSCC Nursery School has welcomed my children to
its nurturing environment in their first year while giving them the foundation,
skills and confidence to make a seamless transition to Kindergarten.
The educators are knowledgeable and caring, and the community spirit
from the hallway to the playground builds relationships
    between students, parents and teachers.”

  • “We have had the most wonderful experience at the
South Shore Community Center. Both of our children have attended the program
and they absolutely love going to school! The teachers and staff are
always positive and engaging. The children really thrive in
such a positive and warm environment.”

Who we are.

Creativity

Children are innately imaginative and inventive. Classrooms are environments where individuality is valued.

Growth

Early Childhood is a time of endless possibilities. Teachers carefully observe and document children’s progress in order to create a curriculum that is both engaging and challenging.

Learning

We believe each child is a unique individual and that each child can learn. We are accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children and Licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care.

Development

Our goal is to get to know as much as possible about each child so we can guide learning and plan experiences to match individual needs.
